Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon week is October 27-October 31

Red Ribbon Week is a nationally recognized drug awareness campaign used to encourage communities and individuals to take a stand and a personal commitment to live drug free lives, free of illegal.

Red Ribbon Week was established to preserve the memory of a DEA Special Agent, Enrique Camarena, who died at the hands of drug traffickers in Mexico while fighting the battle against illegal drugs to keep our country and children safe.  The Red Ribbon campaign helps to further the cause for which he gave his life.

Wheeler will recognize Red Ribbon Week during the week of  October 27-October 31. Drug education and awareness activities are planned throughout the week.  Below are the activities students may participate in each day to recognize this event.

Monday – “Put a Cap on Drugs”  Wear a crazy/fun hat

Tuesday – “I got your back”  Twin day- dress the same way as a sibling or friend

Wednesday –.“Sock it to Drugs”  Wear your crazy socks

Thursday – “Team Up against Drugs”  Come to school in your favorite team jersey.
